Kaduna Electric Calls for Customers Support to Address Operational Challenges

Kaduna Electric has called on its customers to support the company in overcoming challenges affecting electricity supply and service delivery. The appeal was made by the Chief Commercial Officer of Kaduna Electric, Ahmad Sanusi who was represented by the Regional Manager, Mr. Mu'azu Aliyu during an engagement meeting with Barnawa GRA Community feeding on11kv Village Feeder on Improved Power Supply and Voltage Stabilization recently at the Company’s Head Office.

Mr. Aliyu emphasized the impact of non-payment of electricity bills, meter bypass, illegal connection and vandalism as the major challenges on the company’s ability to maintain and improve its infrastructure. He noted that these issues significantly disrupt operations and limit the resources needed to provide reliable and stable power supply to customers.

“We urge all our customers to support us by paying their bills promptly, reporting cases of meter bypass, illegal connection, and protecting our infrastructure against vandalism. Your cooperation is essential to enable us to invest in better equipment, improve voltage stability, and ensure more consistent electricity supply,” he said.

Mr. Aliyu reaffirmed Kaduna Electric’s commitment to addressing customer concerns and improving service delivery but stressed that the support of customers is crucial in achieving these goals. “Together, we can overcome these challenges and build a brighter, and more sustainable future for our communities,” he added.

One of the community members emphasized the critical role of electricity in maintaining security and fostering economic growth. He appealed for consistent power supply to prevent vandalism of power infrastructure, noting that, vandals often exploit prolonged power outages to damage transformers and other facilities.

Mr. Aliyu pledged to conduct a thorough analysis of the 11Kv Village feeder, to determine the feasibility of upgrading the community to a higher electricity supply band. "We will critically analyze the feeder's capacity and see if upgrading is possible," he said. He further appealed to the community to support security efforts, urging them to report suspicious activities promptly.

In their response, the community members thanked Kaduna Electric for the warm welcome and reiterated their appeal for improved power supply. They also highlighted the importance of collaboration between Kaduna Electric, community and security agencies to address vandalism and other challenges.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to addressing the power supply challenges and fostering mutual cooperation between the Barnawa GRA community and Kaduna Electric.

 

Building Partnerships: Kaduna Electric Regional Manager Visits Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps

The Kaduna Regional Manager, Mr. Mu'azu Aliyu, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Kaduna Command


The main purpose of   the visit was to establish and consolidate mutual relationships with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps and appreciate their efforts in safeguarding Kaduna Electric's infrastructure.

During the visit, Mr. Aliyu commended the Commandant and his team for their hard work and dedication to protecting the infrastructure.

In response, Commandant Muhammad Nuhu Bello expressed his appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the synergy between Kaduna Electric and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps.

He also promised to provide necessary support in terms of security required by Kaduna Electric.

Commandant Bello further appealed to Kaduna Electric to report any misconduct or faults found among his personnel immediately, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly.

This visit highlights the importance of collaboration and mutual respect between organizations in achieving their goals and objectives.

 

Kaduna Regional Manager Conducts Seminar For Area Managers

The Kaduna Regional Manager of Kaduna Electric Mr Mu’azu Aliyu, recently conducted a comprehensive seminar for Area Managers, with a focus on effective leadership, monitoring, and supervision.

The session was designed to equip Area Managers with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and drive the company's success.

During the seminar, Mr Aliyu, emphasized the importance of attitudinal changes in achieving Kaduna Electric's mission and vision.

He stressed that a positive and customer-centric attitude is essential for delivering exceptional service and driving business growth.

The seminar covered key topics such as : Effective leadership strategies for motivating and inspiring teams, best practices for monitoring and supervision to ensure operational efficiency, techniques for driving attitudinal changes and promoting a customer-centric culture, aligning individual and team goals with the company's overall mission and vision.

Sokoto Regional Manager Held an Engagement with Area Managers

The Regional Manager, Mr, Zanna Ahmed Ashemi in his well address acknowledged and commend the efforts of the Area Managers in the last month performance.

In his remark Mr. Ashemi, at the meeting that lasted two hours, stated that the aim of the meeting is to review the  performance of the current month, January and also to restrategize so that we can end the cash collection of the region with positive result as the month is fast coming to an end.

He charged the Area Managers to embrace attitudinal change aimed at moving the company to greater heights, as these 2025 will not be business as usual.

Therefore, "Area Managers must work round the clock, change their staff attitude to work and improve revenue collection in their respective Area Office, he added.

The company is more concerned about billing efficiency, collection efficiency, and reduction of ATC&C loses. We must all work hard to ensure the performance of Sokoto Region is improving month in month out."

During a meeting with technical staff at the company’s Zamfara Regional Office in Gusau, the Regional Technical Manager for Zamfara, Engr. Yusuf Yahaya, emphasized this commitment, stressing the importance of embedding a safety-first culture within the organization. “Safety is not just a priority; it is a culture we must all embrace,” he said.

Engr. Yahaya highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to continuously train employees and upgrade systems to minimize electrical hazards while promoting a secure working environment. He also underscored the significance of best practices in the management of critical assets such as transformers, circuit breakers, and injection substations. Regular maintenance of these assets, he noted, plays a key role in preventing equipment failures, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply, and extending the lifespan of essential infrastructure. “Maintenance is not just about fixing faults; it’s about preventing them and consistently delivering reliable power to our communities,” he explained.

Furthermore, Engr. Yahaya emphasized the vital need for professionalism, adherence to ethical standards, and strict compliance with safety protocols, considering them non-negotiable principles.

This initiative reflects Kaduna Electric’s strong dedication to aligning with global best practices, while prioritizing the safety and well-being of its staff and the communities it serves. Delayed Electricity Bill Payments Hindering Efficient Power Supply – Zamfara Central AM

The Area Manager of Zamfara Central, Zamfara Regional Office, Malam Ibrahim Muhammad, has highlighted the detrimental effects of delayed electricity bill payments on the efficient supply of power to customers and the overall business objectives of the company.

He made this assertion during an engagement session with the Sabon Gida community in Gusau, which was organized to create awareness about the importance of prompt electricity bill payments, strengthen the relationship between the company and the community, and address pressing issues raised by residents.

 He underscored that timely electricity payments are essential for ensuring a steady and reliable supply of power, as well as for improving service delivery to customers.

Malam Ibrahim explained that consistent revenue generated from electricity payments is critical for the company to sustain its operations, upgrade infrastructure, and enhance the quality and reliability of electricity services. He noted that delayed payments disrupt these processes, hindering the company’s ability to fulfill its obligations to customers. He further urged the community to view electricity bill payments as a collective responsibility, highlighting the direct impact such contributions have on the sustainability of energy distribution in their area. He reassured the community of the company’s commitment to resolving their concerns and fostering collaboration for better service delivery.

The chairman of the Sabon Gida community, Malam Abubakar Usman, commended the company for initiating the dialogue, describing it as a significant and positive step toward resolving the long-standing challenges faced by the community. He expressed gratitude for the company's willingness to engage in open and constructive communication, stressing the importance of such interactions in building trust and strengthening mutual understanding.

Malam Abubakar also acknowledged the critical role of timely electricity payments in enhancing the relationship between the community and the company. He noted that prompt payments ensure fairness, promote economic stability, and pave the way for the development of the Sabon Gida community. He encouraged all stakeholders to remain committed to the agreements reached during the dialogue, emphasizing that sustained collaboration is key to addressing challenges and driving progress for both the community and the company.
