Kaduna Electric Celebrates Children’s Day with Alubadar and Hilltop Academies

In commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day, Kaduna Electric hosted a vibrant celebration at its Headquarters, bringing together pupils from Alubadar Academy, Unguwan Sunusi, and Hilltop Academy, Gwamna Road, Kaduna

The event, held on Wednesday 28 May, 2025, was marked by fun filled activities including games, gift presentations, and educational sessions, all designed to celebrate children while imparting important lessons on electricity safety.

 

The occasion kicked off with opening remarks from the Deputy Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Sadiq Abubakar Mohammed, who reaffirmed the company’s dedication to community engagement and nurturing the next generation.

 

“It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you all to this special celebration of Children’s Day here at Kaduna Electric. Today, we come together not just to observe a date, but to honour the incredible energy, creativity, and boundless potential of our children, the bright sparks that light up our future, just as electricity lights up our homes and cities.”

 

At Kaduna Electric, we believe that investing in our children is just as vital as investing in infrastructure. They are the leaders, innovators, and visionaries of tomorrow. That’s why today is not just a celebration it’s a commitment. A commitment to support, protect, and inspire every child to dream big and reach for the stars”, he concluded.


In his remarks Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the Head of Corporate Communication, highlighted the role of early awareness in fostering a safety-conscious generation.

“It is important that children understand the basics of electricity safety from a young age. Today is not just about fun, but also about learning how to protect themselves and others,” Abdullahi said.

According to him, "Kaduna Electric has a corporate policy of giving back to the society through its Corporate Social Responsibility programmes. Kaduna Electric has been supporting communities within it franchise in the areas of education, sports, health, relief materials, and emergency etc.,” he said. 


Children participated in interactive games and received gifts, while a team of experts from Kaduna Electric delivered simplified lectures on how to safely interact with electrical appliances and infrastructure.


The event drew to a close with a heartfelt appreciation message delivered by Mr. James from Hilltop Academy, who thanked Kaduna Electric for the initiative and described the event as “both educational and inspiring” for the young participants.


Kaduna Electric’s Children’s Day celebration underscores the Company’s commitment to youth development, community outreach, and safety education.

 

 

Kaduna Electric Hosts Technical Session with LECAN to Strengthen Collaboration

Kaduna Electric, on 28 May 2025, hosted a one-day technical session with the leadership of the Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN), aimed at strengthening collaboration and addressing key operational concerns.

 

The session served as a platform to revisit and discuss issues previously raised by LECAN members while also introducing Kaduna Electric’s new policies and operational processes. The company emphasized the vital role of licensed contractors in its service delivery chain and sought to align both parties on shared goals and responsibilities.

 

The Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of Kaduna Electric, who delivered the opening remarks, highlight the importance of continuous engagement with stakeholders. He noted that the session reflects Kaduna Electric’s ongoing efforts to build stronger partnerships and promote transparency in its operations.

 

Representatives of LECAN expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the session as timely and impactful. They also reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with Kaduna Electric to ensure improved service delivery and compliance with industry standards.

 

The interactive session concluded with both parties agreeing to foster closer collaboration, improve communication channels, and work together to address operational challenges for the benefit of electricity consumers across the network.
