Kaduna Electric Trains Staff on Customer Relations to Build Trust and Strengthen Service Delivery


As part of its continued commitment to improving customer engagement and service excellence, Kaduna Electric has organized a two-day intensive training on Customer Relations themed “Building Trust Through Exceptional Service and Communication.”


The training, which took place on Wednesday, 12th and Thursday, 13th November 2025, at the company’s Head Office in Kaduna, brought together selected staff from different departments who play key roles in customer interaction and communication.

The sessions were facilitated by communication experts Elizabeth Anche, Mr. Enoch Nalado and Mr. Issac Maude from the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). The collaboration between KSMC and Kaduna Electric is designed to enhance employees’ communication skills, improve customer-handling techniques, and reshape public perception of the company as a responsive, business-oriented, and customer focused organization.


Throughout the two-day training, participants engaged in practical discussions and group activities focusing on several critical areas such as customer response and empathy, managing social media content, handling crisis communication, corporate reputation management, and building customer trust through consistent engagement.

The facilitators emphasized that every employee, regardless of department, plays a vital role in shaping the customer experience. They encouraged participants to adopt a proactive communication approach that is transparent, consistent, respectful, and solution driven.


Speaking on behalf of the facilitators, The Executive Director Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Farida Abubakar commended Kaduna Electric for investing in human capital development, particularly in the area of customer relations, which she described as a core pillar for business growth and public confidence.


“Trust is earned through action and consistency,” she said. “For a service organization like Kaduna Electric, every conversation, post, or response is an opportunity to build or break that trust. This training is a positive step toward building stronger connections with your customers.”


Participants expressed deep appreciation to the management for organizing such a timely and impactful training. They described the sessions as impactful and promised to put into practice the knowledge gained, especially in areas of active listening, professional response, and conflict resolution.


The Chairman Board of Directors Kaduna Electric, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Suleiman, in his remarks commended both the facilitators and the participants for their passion and commitment. He noted that customer satisfaction remains central to Kaduna Electric’s mission and that the company is determined to rebuild public trust through improved service delivery and open communication.


“Customer trust is the foundation of any business,” said Suleiman. “This training reinforces our commitment to excellence and empathy in every customer interaction. We must ensure that every engagement reflects professionalism and respect. The success of our business depends on how well we listen, respond, and build relationships with the people we serve.”


The Deputy Managing Director Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed in his contributions urged participants to cascade the knowledge gained from the training to their respective teams and colleagues across the company’s operational areas. He emphasized that consistent service standards across all locations are crucial to maintaining customer confidence and improving the company’s reputation. “Go back and train your teams,” he said. “Let’s all speak the same language of service and ensure that customers everywhere experience Kaduna Electric as one unified, responsive organization.”


The training forms part of Kaduna Electric’s broader capacity development initiative aimed at equipping its workforce with the necessary skills to meet modern customer expectations and enhance operational efficiency.

The session ended with certificate presentations and a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the training program.


Kaduna Electric Partners with NUJ to Enhance Public Awareness

The Regional Manager of Kaduna Electric, Zamfara Region, Mr. Muazu Aliyu, has reiterated the company’s commitment to building strong partnerships with the media in promoting responsible electricity use, curbing energy theft, and combating vandalism of power infrastructure.

Mr. Aliyu made this known during a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents’ Chapel, Zamfara State, held at the chapel’s secretariat in Gusau.


He described the media as a critical stakeholder in Kaduna Electric’s efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and customer enlightenment on electricity distribution matters. He noted that the media, through its various platforms, plays a central role in simplifying complex energy issues and communicating them effectively to the public.


“The media plays a vital role in educating communities on the dangers of vandalism, energy theft, meter bypass, and default in bill payments,” Mr. Aliyu said. “When the public is well informed, they are more likely to support our collective efforts to improve service delivery and sustain reliable power supply.”


Mr. Aliyu added that collaboration with the media is essential in fostering trust and ensuring continuous improvement in electricity service delivery.


 “Through these partnerships, we can highlight our achievements, address challenges transparently, and enhance the overall customer experience across our service areas,” he emphasized.


He further commended the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel for its continuous support and urged journalists to use their platforms to promote positive behavioral change, emphasizing that responsible energy use not only minimizes system losses but also contributes to environmental and economic sustainability.


In his remarks, the Chairman of the NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel, Zamfara State, Comrade Ishaq Zaki Tambuwal, appreciated Kaduna Electric for the visit and described it as a welcome initiative that would strengthen mutual understanding and collaboration between the company and the media.


 “This engagement is both timely and commendable. The media remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and public awareness on electricity matters,” he stated.


Zamfara Regional Office Rewards Outstanding Area Offices

The Zamfara Regional Manager of Kaduna Electric, Mr. Muazu Aliyu, has presented Rewards and Recognition Awards to outstanding Area Offices in appreciation of their exemplary dedication, professionalism, and contributions to the company’s operational success.

The awards presentation ceremony, held at the Zamfara Regional Office, reflects Kaduna Electric’s commitment to motivating its workforce and fostering a culture of excellence across all its operational areas.

Mr. Aliyu commended employees for their hard work, teamwork, and integrity, noting that recognition remains a central part of the company’s human capital development strategy.

 “Motivation drives performance. When employees feel valued and recognized, they give their best. These awards are not just tokens of appreciation; they symbolize our belief in the people who make Kaduna Electric stronger every day,” he stated.


He emphasized that Kaduna Electric’s continued growth depends on a disciplined, engaged, and motivated workforce that shares the company’s vision of providing reliable and sustainable electricity to its customers. Mr. Aliyu assured staff that management will continue to invest in motivation through incentives, training, and supportive workplace practices.


Mr. Aliyu also urged both staff and management to remain proactive and intensify their efforts toward achieving higher operational standards, improving revenue generation, and reducing Aggregate Technical, Commercial, and Collection (ATC&C) losses.


“This is just the beginning of our journey,” he said. “We must be more proactive and put in greater effort to achieve high standards, acceptable revenue levels, and continuous improvement every day.”


The Rewards and Recognition Awards celebrated Area Offices that excelled in key operational areas such as revenue collection and loss reduction. Recipients were commended for maintaining high standards of service delivery and operational discipline.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the Zamfara Central Area Manager, Malam Ibrahim Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the management, describing the recognition as a morale booster and a source of renewed motivation to excel.


 “This means a lot to us. It shows that our hard work is seen and valued. We’ll continue to do even better,” said a delighted staff member.


Mr. Aliyu urged all staff to sustain the momentum and work collectively toward Kaduna Electric’s mission of ensuring reliable power supply and customer satisfaction.

“Our success depends on each of us playing our part with integrity, passion, and teamwork,” he concluded.

 

Sokoto Regional Manager visits SA On Rural Electrification, Appeals for Collaboration

The Regional Manager Sokoto, Kaduna Electric, Mr Salisu Malami Shanono, has paid a familiarization visit to Sokoto State Special Adviser on Rural Electrification, Nasiru Garba Kalambaina, and called for more collaboration between the State Government and Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company.

Mr. Shanono said the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing cordial relationship and mutual

understanding between the two organizations in Sokoto State.

“We recognize the Rural Electrification Agency as a key stakeholder and partner in progress. We acknowledge and commend the efforts of the Sokoto State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu,” he stated.


The Regional Manager also emphasized the need for strict adherence to established procedures, rules, and regulations by both Kaduna Electric and the Rural Electrification Agency to ensure smooth operations.


He expressed concern over the increasing cases of vandalism of company installations, noting that such acts not only hinder the company’s efforts to ensure stable power supply but also place additional burdens on communities.

“I assure you of our maximum support and cooperation. I also appeal to you to use your good office and other state structures to create awareness among the populace on the importance of prompt payment of electricity bills as at when due to enable the company serve the good people of Sokoto State better,” he added.


In his response, Hon. Nasiru Garba Kalambaina, the Special Adviser on Rural Electrification, pledged the readiness of the Sokoto State Rural Electrification Board to work closely with Kaduna Electric to achieve shared goals.


While soliciting for support and cooperation of all concerned, the Special Adviser assured that the State Government would continue to support the company in safeguarding electricity infrastructure and promoting community awareness.


He also called on security agencies to intensify efforts in curbing vandalism in the state, describing the act as a nuisance to both the company and the community. He further urged members of the public to report perpetrators to the nearest security agencies.

 

Kaduna Electric Seeks Royal Support for Electricity Development

The Regional Manager of Kaduna Electric, Zamfara Region, Mr. Muazu Aliyu, has emphasized the vital role of traditional rulers in promoting electricity development and enhancing service delivery to communities across the state.

Mr. Aliyu stated this when he led a delegation of the company on a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, at his palace in Gusau.


He described traditional rulers as key partners in advancing electricity services, noting that their influence and connection with the people make them instrumental in creating awareness and fostering cooperation between the company and its customers.

According to him, traditional leaders play a crucial role in bridging the gap between electricity providers and consumers by promoting understanding, discouraging vandalism, encouraging prompt bill payment, and supporting energy efficiency initiatives.


The Regional Manager commended the late Emir of Katsinan Gusau for his support to Kaduna Electric during his reign and prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.


He also congratulated the new Emir, the biological son of the late monarch, expressing optimism that the cordial relationship between Kaduna Electric and the emirate would be sustained under his leadership.

Mr. Aliyu reaffirmed Kaduna Electric’s commitment to providing reliable and efficient electricity supply across Zamfara State, adding that the company will continue to collaborate with traditional and community leaders to enhance service delivery, protect power infrastructure, and promote customer satisfaction.

In his remarks, the Emir of Katsinan Gusau, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim Bello, commended Kaduna Electric for the visit and described its engagement with traditional institutions as a welcome development that would strengthen understanding and cooperation.


He assured the company of the emirate’s continued support and pledged to mobilize residents to protect power installations and ensure timely payment of electricity bills.


The royal father also emphasized the importance of stable electricity supply to socio-economic development, noting that power remains a critical driver of growth in education, health, and commerce.

 

Kaduna Electric Strengthens Partnership with Civil Defence Corps to Protect Power Infrastructure

The Regional Manager of Kaduna Electric, Zamfara Region, Mr. Muazu Aliyu, has called for a stronger and more strategic partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to enhance the protection of power installations and improve electricity supply to communities across the region.

Mr. Aliyu made the call when the management team of Kaduna Electric paid a courtesy visit to the
NSCDC State Commandant, Zamfara State Command, at the Corps’ headquarters in Gusau.

He explained that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to consolidate existing collaboration and explore new areas of cooperation, particularly in asset protection, staff safety, and community engagement.


According to him, Kaduna Electric, as a key player in the nation’s electricity value chain, remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable power supply to its customers. However, he noted that achieving this goal requires strong collaboration with security agencies to address persistent challenges such as vandalism, energy theft, and other threats to critical infrastructure.

“Electricity is the heartbeat of modern development, and protecting power infrastructure is vital to sustaining national growth and stability,” Mr. Aliyu stated. “Kaduna Electric appreciates the continued support of the Civil Defence Corps in safeguarding our facilities, personnel, and customers. We believe that stronger collaboration will further enhance electricity supply and service delivery.”


He commended the NSCDC for its consistent support and appealed for sustained cooperation in the protection of power facilities across the state.

In his response, the NSCDC State Commandant, Mr. Sani Mustapha, commended Kaduna Electric for its proactive engagement and reaffirmed the Corps’ readiness to continue partnering with the company in protecting its assets and personnel.


Commandant Mustapha reiterated the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding lives and property, securing critical national infrastructure, and supporting socio-economic development through partnerships with key institutions such as Kaduna Electric.

Both parties agreed to strengthen intelligence sharing, improve surveillance of power installations, and intensify community sensitization to curb vandalism and electricity theft across the region.
