Kaduna Electric Trains Technical Staff Ahead of Rainy Season

As part of proactive measures to ensure improved power supply and network reliability during the rainy season, Kaduna Electric recently organized a comprehensive training programme for its technical personnel across its franchise area.

The training, facilitated by Engr. Suleiman focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage common rainy season challenges, including transformer failures, vandalism of power infrastructure, and unplanned outages.

A major component of the programme was condition-based monitoring (CBM), a preventive maintenance approach that enables technical staff to identify potential faults and equipment deterioration before they result in service disruptions. Participants were trained on modern monitoring techniques, fault detection, asset inspection, and best practices for maintaining critical network equipment.

Speaking during the session, Engineer Big T emphasized the importance of preparedness and timely intervention in reducing downtime and improving service delivery to customers. He noted that the rainy season often places additional stress on electrical infrastructure, making preventive maintenance and rapid fault response essential.

The training also covered strategies for mitigating the effects of vandalism, strengthening network resilience, and enhancing emergency response to unplanned outages.

Kaduna Electric reaffirmed its commitment to continuous capacity building for its workforce as part of efforts to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electricity services to customers throughout the rainy season and beyond.
